It's that time of year again - spring! Here at the girlsguidetobeer, we want you guys to make the most of the beautiful spring weather - get out, frolic with others and meet some other beer aficionados. So, to make that a bit easier for you to accomplish, we've compiled a list of some of the best beer events that are coming up around the Boston area.

There are four of these held every year. This one has the most breweries in attendance that we've seen since we started attending. If you like the spring season and the seasonal type of beers which accompany it, then we recommend going. The craft beer meet-up is a social networking event intended for anyone who loves beer. Come meet some new friends who love beer, maybe as much as you do!
Bring your homebrew into Jacob Wirth on April 25th at 7pm to be judged by a Sam Adams brewer and a Jacob Wirth beer enthusiast. The grand prize winner will be served at Jacob Wirth for a month, win Home Brewer's Dream package from Sam Adams, Red Sox tickets (in the State Street Pavilion Box) and all kinds of Jacob Wirth swag! 2nd and 3rd Place Prizes will also be awarded.
Entries must be received by April 10th 2012. You must be 21 years or older to enter. - Well, duh!
The original idea behind the Beerathon was to create a marathon event for those whose enthusiasm for running includes making a beer-run. So, come participate, rock out all day with beers, bands, djs, and the most fun you can have legally. You’ll leave with some great memories.
Restaurants and purveyors from all over will be preparing their tastiest bacon based dishes for you to sample paired with beers from New England's greatest breweries. Plus, it is also a benefit for the local hunger relief organizations Lovin' Spoonfuls and Community Servings, - very cool! Your ticket will get you into the festival where you can sample the dishes and the beer.

Presented by Beer Advocate and the Harpoon Brewery, welcome the 5th annual American Craft Beer Fest (ACBF). It is the largest celebration of American beer on the east coast, and it will be featuring over 100 American brewers and over 500 beers!
