Citra Session IPA:
Our Citra Session™ IPA is brewed with high-quality Marris Otter and Vienna malt but the flavor is dominated by the Citra hops introduced throughout the boil and again in the dry hop for maximum aroma intensity. Notes of lemon, orange and grapefruit make this hop-laden brew a perfectly potable summer session IPA. 4.5% ABV
On August 16, Brew at the Zoo, one of Boston’s most popular beer tasting events, is returning to Franklin Park Zoo! For the fifth year, the Zoo will host more than 40 of the area’s best local breweries (including Narragansett, Allagash, Hopsters, Green Flash, Harpoon and more!), as well as food, live entertainment, and – of course – the opportunity to stroll among the animals. This year - the ENTIRE zoo will be open for the first time!
One of the many highlights at this year’s event, will be the opportunity for attendees to sample a special, limited edition beer custom brewed by Hopsters (Newton’s first-ever commercial brewery) – ‘Okie’s 21st Birthday Banana Weizen’. Inspired by Okie the gorilla, who turned 21 last month, this traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen will be infused with banana nectar. Directly following the event, the Banana Weizen will be on tap at Hopsters, 30% of proceeds from the beer sales will go to support Zoo New England.
Enjoy a range of freshly-brewed local craft beer samples and learn about how it’s made from beer artists & scientists. Hang out with other passionate Boston locals who are changing the world with technology & art, and get excited about the increasingly popular craft beer movement. Learn all about Harpoon and get an up close and personal view of their brew deck.
