  • August 16th - Brew at the Zoo  at the Franklin Park Zoo

On August 16Brew at the Zoo, one of Boston’s most popular beer tasting events, is returning to Franklin Park Zoo! For the fifth year, the Zoo will host more than 40 of the area’s best local breweries (including Narragansett, Allagash, Hopsters, Green Flash, Harpoon and more!), as well as food, live entertainment, and – of course – the opportunity to stroll among the animals. This year - the ENTIRE zoo will be open for the first time!

One of the many highlights at this year’s event, will be the opportunity for attendees to sample a special, limited edition beer custom brewed by Hopsters (Newton’s first-ever commercial brewery) – ‘Okie’s 21st Birthday Banana Weizen’. Inspired by Okie the gorilla, who turned 21 last month, this traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen will be infused with banana nectar. Directly following the event, the Banana Weizen will be on tap at Hopsters, 30% of proceeds from the beer sales will go to support Zoo New England.
