Recently, you might have heard a lot of buzz about protein beer. Protein beer averages anywhere from four to seven grams of protein per can and is touted as a great post-workout beverage because, as with any beer, it has no fat, but it has fewer carbs and more protein than the normal beer and it tastes better than your typical post-workout drink (goodbye flavorless sports drinks!).

Craft beer saved the world, well at least the part of it. According to BeerInfo.com, the number of active breweries fell from 229 in 1960 to 82 in 1980 with just a few brands controlling 92% of the beer production in the United States. Through the initial efforts of Fritz Maytag who bought the struggling San Francisco Anchor Steam Brewery in 1965, the craft beer phenomenon began to take root.
Groups of brewers across the country were experimenting with traditional brewing methods that used a higher caliber of ingredients while employing elements of food service technology. This new generation of brewers was able to cater to regional, neighborhood and specialty markets and stay away from focusing on the national scene.

There is one style of beer that screams warm weather more than any other - and that is the wheat beer.
The main reason for that is because extra malted wheat lends itself to a more crisp and light beer that complements the warmer months nicely Also the common flavors like lemon, orange, blueberries, apricot and other fruits are consumed more often in the summer months. Plus, their wheat character is inherently designed to pair better with the lighter foods of the summer.
